QUANTGPT

Run a validated strategy: from screen to broker

Updated October 19, 2026

The short answer

QuantGPT tests a strategy on decades of US market history and shows how its rules did, year by year. It does not trade for you. The rules reach your broker in one of three ways: you run the screen and place the orders yourself; you download the criteria into your own bot or autotrader; or, on QuantGPT Pro, your own code runs on QuantGPT Cloud and sends its orders to your own Alpaca account, under your keys.

Your money stays at your broker. QuantGPT holds no balance, and it never decides, sizes or manages a trade.

Three ways from a backtest to your broker

Plans: QuantGPT $49 a month, QuantGPT Pro $149 a month, each with a 3-day free trial.

Step by step

  1. Test the rules. A backtest splits its statistics at a cut year (2015 unless you pick another), so the years after the cut read on their own. challenge_finding then runs eleven checks that try to break the finding: seven read the run (sample size, walk-forward decay, the probabilistic Sharpe, random books, costs, decades and a thousand resampled histories) and four re-run it with one thing changed.
  2. Fix the criteria. Up to 8 filters and a ranking, the number of stocks held and the cadence (monthly, weekly or daily). Download the criteria for your AI, under a backtest, puts the rules and the backtest's numbers in one file.
  3. Produce the list. Today's screen runs the criteria on the latest nightly data and lists the stocks that pass. Monthly factors come from the last completed month, the same rows the backtest read. A strategy alert watches a screen each night and tells you when a name enters or leaves it (three alerts on QuantGPT, unlimited on QuantGPT Pro). Nothing is placed.
  4. Hand it off. You place the orders at your broker, your bot reads the list, or your own code on QuantGPT Cloud sends its orders to your Alpaca account.
  5. Follow it. The findings journal grades each finding it holds every night on the data that arrived after it was recorded. Follow on paper opens a $100,000 paper book from today, marked every night, with no broker and no order.

Can an AI place trades for me?

Not through QuantGPT's AI tools. No tool your AI can call through QuantGPT's MCP server places, changes or cancels an order. Claude or ChatGPT can run the research, read the results and help you write the rules down as code.

An order reaches your account in one of three ways: you place it, your broker's own tools place it, or code you run places it under your keys. On QuantGPT Pro that code can run on QuantGPT Cloud. QuantGPT never decides an order.

Questions

How do I let an AI agent place trades through my broker's API?

QuantGPT does not give an AI agent order access: no tool your AI can call through QuantGPT's MCP server places, changes or cancels an order. Your AI can test the rules and help you write them as code; code you run then places orders through your broker's API under your own keys. On QuantGPT Pro that code can run on QuantGPT Cloud against your own Alpaca account, after you attest that you wrote or reviewed every line. What any other agent may do at your broker is set by your broker's API and your own setup.

How do I run a trading bot in the cloud?

A bot needs a server that is on during market hours, your broker's API keys and your code. On QuantGPT Pro, QuantGPT Cloud runs your own code on QuantGPT's cloud, on your schedule, and sends its orders to your own Alpaca account under your keys. QuantGPT Cloud supports Alpaca today (paper and live accounts). A 30-day paper window is offered; it is an option, not a requirement. Step by step: quantgpt.co/learn/quantgpt-cloud.

How do I export a validated stock screen to my trading bot?

Fix the filters, the ranking, the number of stocks and the cadence, then run them on the latest data and pass the tickers to your bot. On QuantGPT, Download the criteria for your AI puts the rules and the backtest's numbers in one file, and Today's screen lists the stocks that pass today. A connected AI can run the same screen over MCP. Monthly factors come from the last completed month, the rows the backtest read.

How do I turn a backtested strategy into daily stock signals?

Run the strategy's criteria on each night's data and act on the list that comes back. On QuantGPT, Today's screen does that from the latest nightly refresh, and a strategy alert tells you when a name enters or leaves the screen. Backtests can form books monthly, weekly or daily (daily from 2016). Nothing is placed: the list goes to you, your bot or your own code.

How do I connect a backtested strategy to my broker's autotrader?

Give the autotrader the strategy's rules or its list of tickers in the form it accepts. QuantGPT's Download the criteria for your AI and Today's screen produce both; QuantGPT has no link to another company's autotrader. On QuantGPT Pro, your own code can run on QuantGPT Cloud and send orders to your own Alpaca account.

Can ChatGPT trade stocks for me?

Not through QuantGPT. ChatGPT connected to QuantGPT can search the strategy library, run backtests and read the results, but no QuantGPT tool places, changes or cancels an order. An order goes through your own broker: you place it, or code you run places it under your keys.

Can Claude trade stocks in my own brokerage account?

Not through QuantGPT. Claude connected to QuantGPT can test rules on decades of US market history and help you write them as code, but no tool it can call through QuantGPT places, changes or cancels an order. Code you run places orders at your broker under your keys; on QuantGPT Pro it can run on QuantGPT Cloud at your own Alpaca account.

Is my money safe?

Your money never leaves your broker; QuantGPT holds no balance and takes no fee tied to trading. Your Alpaca keys are sealed in your browser to QuantGPT Cloud's own key, passed along unopened by QuantGPT's web server and stored, encrypted, only on QuantGPT Cloud. Disconnecting, replacing keys, deleting a bot or deleting your QuantGPT account revokes them there.
